Brodie's
Art
This site features art and illustrations from longstanding author, artist and illustrator Christina Brodie.
The work on this site is focused on botany, natural history, landscapes and the built environment.
Some work is new, for 2025. Over time will be displayed award-winning botanical studies and other work of Christina's, which has never been in the public domain.

Christina is a versatile artist with a keen eye for aesthetics. She is capable of working across a range of media, and enjoys travelling and recording the world around her - whether through a simple sketch, or beautifully detailed drawing. Always inquisitive, she never ceases to be open to possibilities!

2000 -
Location
West Somerset, UK
Drawings of diatoms, radiolarians and foraminifera done on black scraperboard, in some cases at many hundreds or thousands of times their original size.
Skeletons are siliceous/ calcareous, and this was reflected in my choice of scraperboard as a medium.
