Passionflowers - National Collection
Project type
Paintings
Date
1999
Location
Kingston Seymour, Somerset, UK
Passionflowers from John Vanderplank's 200-strong collection. The flowers come in a vast array of colours, scents and forms and painting them was a special treat.
I lived nearby and would cycle to the Collection over the Somerset Levels with my drawing board on the back of my bike, then sweat through the day as I painted the flowers in the sweltering summer sun!
A selection of these paintings won a Silver-Gilt RHS medal in 1999.
